I have found that if given the chance to talk to your heroes that, "no" should never be your answer. I sat down with David, Soren, and Louis from New Politics before their show at The TLA in Philadelphia, PA. They are touring on the release of their new album An Invitation to an Alternate Reality and I wanted to dive into their change in style for this offering. The tour consists of three headlining bands - the other two being The Mowgli's and Plain White T's - that rotate as the headliner each night. Tonight the headliner is New Politics and they did not disappoint.

Concert Review: Matisyahu @ The TLA - Philadelphia, PA 12/27/16
Not many could do what Matisyahu does. Actually, I don't think anyone could do what Matisyahu does. In the hands of a lesser individual, the act might come of as schticky. To Matisyahu, this is not an act. What he creates is real and honest. His music is filled with substance and love. He sings songs of faith and devotion. Put in its simplest terms, Matisyahu is a thing of beauty.

Concert Review: Capital Cities @ The TLA - Philadelphia, PA 11/05/16
I miss phone contests for radio stations. Even if they were looking for caller ten and you were caller six you still felt like you had a chance to win. Nowadays you type a password into a website and wait. Not the same thrill.

Concert Review: Marianas Trench with Mainland @ The TLA - Philadelphia, PA 02/05/16
Even though I may have been the only person there that wasn't a female, a teenager, or a parent of a teenage female, it does not mean that I didn't have a good time. Especially given the night's 80's theme. Pop is a genre that appeals to every age. That's its allure. It is universal. Tonight was a great example of that.

Even though success may seem to happen over night, behind the scenes there are countless years of hard work.
