I love MCR. I can't say that I wasn't disappointed with the Danger Days album. Not because I didn't like it though. When the band went into the studio they said that they were making a punk album. Obviously, that did not happen. It has it's moments...but they are sandwiched between Arena Rock Ready ballads. This song gives us a glimpse of what might have been.

Stephanie - Limp Bizkit / The Truth & Clutch / Binge and Purge
I have a Workout Playlist but I never push play and just let it go. I queue up songs based on how I'm feeling. I had an epiphany last week when I went looking for two specific songs during the same workout that I haven't searched for in a long time. The epiphany was that I only play these songs during very personally transitional times. I can't explain it but shit is going down in my head and my past history with these songs proves that's a very, very good thing.
I've hate played Limp Bizkit at very high volume to get revenge on my awful neighbors. I've purposefully picked "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit to listen to while riding the Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Orlando and will do so again this week while I'm here. I've listened to their early stuff and thought "That's actually some pretty good shit". Any music freak chick who tells you she hasn't at least subconsciously hate fucked Fred Durst is a liar. This is a No Judgement Zone so don't hold my first choice against me, okay?
This video captured the first time Limp Bizkit performed together after guitarist Wes Borland left the band. The video and the song both capture the anger, the hurt, the clarity and truth that comes about after the loss of someone you care about, especially by their own impetus. It's the epitome of an "I get the last word, motherfucker" song.

I chose not to see Clutch live a while back because they no longer perform my favorite song of theirs due to riots breaking out at live shows at the climax of the song. This song causes a riot inside my own head every time I listen to it. It starts slow but builds to a beautiful vortex of rage, resulting in the writer/singer taking back control. It starts with uncertainty and hopelessness, a victim's mentality
."I say hey, little fella. Whose soul are you tormenting now? Hey there, fella. Whose soul are you tormenting now? I don't know where the gun is but I'm certain that it's pointed at me".
Just when you're thinking all is lost, a total reversal of mind and body language comes about. I can literally see this guy's physical stance go from defeated to violent and battle ready.
"Come on, motherfucker, let's throw down. Just try me, what are you waiting for? You're mine, motherfucker, let's throw down, let's go. Just rear your ugly fucking head, I'll put it on a platter. I'll make you wish that you'd never been born".
What a reversal, huh?
Scott - Meiko / Sweeter
As much as I wanted to post a video related to this weekend's Maryland Deathfest (the biggest death metal festival in North America, don't worry, I'll have plenty to say about it when it happens), I can't help but post this song by singer/songwriter Meiko. I've seen and met her a few times over the years and she's a total sweetheart. Which makes this song so unbelievably perfect, yet so unlike her. This is a gentle tune about being jealous of an ex's new "love" even though she knows that she'll end up back with him once he's bored with the new flavor of the month. Also notable, the song contains one of the most caustic lyrics I've heard in years. As you watch this live video of "Sweeter" you'll know when the line is coming by the smirk on her face as she knows what the crowd's reaction will be.
Joel - INVDRS / Great Beast 666
INVDRS are from salt lake city. I don't even know what to say about this track, all I know is that I like it. They have one of the loudest live shows you'll ever see. If they play in your town, expect a brown out and half of your plants to die.
Gita - Nils Frahm / Says
I love this whole album (Spaces, 2013) and I especially dig this song. I love its elegance, the mixture of piano and hypnotic loops that gradually build up to a majestic climax. It's so easy to get lost in it!

Gita, I listened to your song while I cleaning my makeup brushes, which is always relaxing to me alone, but combined with this song, I almost fell asleep at the sink. Great song to get lost in as you said.
